FRIDAY, NOV. 6

9 a.m.
Golf Tournament, Washington Duke Inn and & Golf Club
Enjoy networking, fellowship and phenomenal golf as we take it to them at Duke. The 18-hole championship course opened in 1957 and is the only course in the region originally designed by respected golf course architect Robert Trent Jones and redesigned by his son Rees in 1994. The course consistently receives top rankings in Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and the Zagat Survey. This year’s outing will include prizes for first, second and third place teams. Prizes also will be awarded for closest to pin and longest drive. Whether you’re a new golfer or one who has had formal training, this year’s tournament will have something for you. Price includes balls, greens fees, cart fees, breakfast and lunch.

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
We Shall Not Be Moved Exhibit, Wilson Library, Melba Remig Saltarelli Room
The Southern Historical Collection (SHC) and the Friends of the Library at The University of North Carolina invite you to view the We Shall Not Be Moved: African-Americans in the South, 18th Century to the Present exhibit.  This exhibit is a part of the Documenting the African-American Southern Experience Initiative. Through this initiative, the SHC extends its commitment to documenting African-American life in the South.

12 – 2 p.m.
Partner Lunch, George Watts Hill Alumni Center, Alumni Halls I & II

The Art of Networking: What is it?  What is it not? Networking is the art of building relationships and it begins long before the job search.  It is one of the most important (if not the most important) tool an active job-seeker can have and is considerably more than the exchange of a business card or asking about a job opening.  Whether you are expert in the art of networking or a novice, we invite you to attend this event.  In addition to lunch, there will be a networking session with corporate sponsors and current students.

Your hosts for the evening will be Regina Newell Stephens ’84, Sherri Moore Cardona '84, Bernadine Alston Cobb ’84, William Fuller ’86, Lori Ann Harris ’84, Sam Perkins ’84 and Kenneth Ward ’84.

For those who remember the vintage times we all shared on the Hill, it’s a celebration that is sure to make this year one to remember. Join the seasoned ones and many others that shared a laugh, a party, a tear and other great experiences. We are going to party like it’s 1999 (or earlier). Make plans to join your usual group of seasoned suspects for this special time: Gail Moseley ’76 & Jackie Newkirk (hostesses), Angela Bryant ’73, Allen Mask ’74, Calvin Blanton ’76, Jon “Bushy” Regis ’73, Phil McAlpin ’75 and many more.  Be sure to register early for this one!

10 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Ultimate Throwback Party, Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Crystal Coast
When was the last time you heard the songs that take you back to your Carolina days? Come jump-start the weekend with the old-school sounds of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s with DJ Whitted. Whether you used to party at the Upendo, E-haus basement or Great Hall, you are guaranteed to enjoy the fellowship, energy and music of the night. BAR participants who are celebrating milestone anniversaries should contact your crew and party like it’s 19_ _ - Carolina style. Milestone class photos will be taken (classes of ’74, ’79, ’84, ’89, ’94 and’99). All class years are welcome!

11 p.m. – 2 a.m.
The Carolina 1st Friday Black Affair (Hip Hop Party), Champps Restaurant, The Streets at Southpoint

Once again it’s on! Join us as we take one of the hottest parties of weekend to a new level and location. This year marks the return of The Black Affair. Come dressed in your best black for a night you won’t forget. Reunite with old friends and familiar faces from your wonder years on the Hill, as the DJ spins the best hip-hop and R&B – some old and mostly new. Enjoy the atmosphere whether you want to dance like you’re an undergrad again, socialize with old friends or meet new ones. Be sure to register and get your advance tickets to avoid the long lines at the door! You definitely want to be there instead of hearing about it!  Attire: No athletic wear, jeans or timbs.
