
| E-Mail Forwarding hintonjames1798@alumni.unc.edu The UNC General Alumni Association is pleased to offer a free e-mail forwarding service that will allow Carolina alumni to share their alumni.unc.edu e-mail address with friends and family and not worry about changing it when they move or change jobs, or internet service providers (ISPs). For example, if your name were Hinton James, you might sign up as hintonjames1798@alumni.unc.edu. Then, all e-mail sent to your alumni e-mail address will automatically be forwarded to the address that your current Internet service provider hosts - hinton@yahoo.com, hj1798@hotmail.com, etc., whatever address you choose to enter. This free service is provided as a courtesy for all UNC alumni, current UNC students, and associate General Alumni Association members. The your.name@alumni.unc.edu address is a free forwarding service for UNC alumni and GAA members. Once acquired, you will never have to notify your family and friends when you change your e-mail address. It's also a great way to show your pride in being an alumnus of UNC. Is this an Internet service? No, the e-mail forwarding service does not include access to the Internet, nor is it an e-mail service provider. This address is a forwarding service for people who already have an e-mail account. How should I choose my e-mail forwarding address? The system is designed to allow UNC alumni to choose their own "user ID" or "alias" (the part of the e-mail address before the "@" sign). Many Carolina alumni prefer to use their real name and class year so lost friends can easily guess where to send them e-mail. Some suggested formats include:
