Class of 1965 50th Anniversary Yackety Yack

Class of 1965 50th Anniversary Yackety Yack

Hundreds of classmates – (~300, that is!) – have sent in their profile updates for the special 50th reunion book. It may not be too late for you to add yours! While we are in the final compilation and design stages, and we reserve the right to refuse to accept any more personal updates at any point — for now we’re continuing to accept updates as we can.

Complete your personal update form using your computer: simply send an email request to and ask for your unique “one-click” login message.

Click here to order your keepsake, printed copy of the book.
Both the printed and online versions of the personal update form also include order forms, as well.

Curious as to what a completed personal update will look like in the finished book? Click here to see Class President Harrison Merrill’s example.

A message from your 50th Yack editors Karen Parker, Hugh Stevens and Larry Tarleton:

If you are like us, you often find yourself wondering what happened to the friend with whom you pulled an “all-nighter” before Dr. Jicha’s Chem 11 exam, your long-lost “Jubilee” date, or the other members of your dorm’s intramural basketball team.

By participating in the 50th Anniversary Yackety-Yack you can reconnect with your UNC classmates – including the folks you were close to at Carolina but haven’t stayed in touch with over the years.

All you have to do is to complete and return the personal update form and send it to us with a current photo so you can be included with hundreds of others in the Class of ’65 anniversary book. We’ll add a lot of photos, essays and other materials and combine everything into a keepsake book that will both jog your memories and put “now” and “then” into historic perspective.

We feel confident that you will want to order a printed copy of this book to browse at your leisure, but we are pleased to announce that through generous Reunion Patron donors we will be the first UNC 50th reunion class to make a complimentary digital version of the book available to everyone in our class. The digital version will include everything except the full class directory which will be available only in the printed version.

Please don’t be among the regretful few who will see the book next spring and say, “I shoulda.” Don’t put the form aside for “later.” Return it SOON — or, better yet, fill it out online and spare yourself the trouble of mailing it.

We look forward to hearing from and about you and to a great celebration next May.
