Encounter a land of transcendent beauty and belief, history and hospitality, engaging all your senses in this extraordinary destination with a small group limited to 24 travelers.  The 12-day journey begins in Tel Aviv, Israel’s cultural capital, where touring includes the “White City” district of distinctive Bauhaus architecture, a UNESCO site; and the nearby ancient port of Jaffa.  Journeying up the coast, tour Caesarea’s Roman ruins and experience the unique Ein Hod artists’ community.  Overnight at a hotel on the grounds of a kibbutz in Galilee’s hills, visiting a local winery and Capernaum’s ruins.

Staying next at a historic hotel on the Sea of Galilee’s shores, see the New Testament come to life at key biblical sites:  Tiberias, the Mount of Beatitudes, and Nazareth.  After lunch at a dairy farm, visit Safed, center of Jewish mysticism.  A five-night stay in Jerusalem, the “City of Gold,” at the legendary King David Jerusalem Hotel follows.

On a Dead Sea excursion, explore Qumran’s Dead Sea Scrolls caves; see Masada’s ruins, a UNESCO site; and float on the storied lake.  Returning to Jerusalem, visit two historically significant sites:  the Western Wall’s tunnels and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.  Absorb the New City’s multicultural flavor, and tour the moving Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial.  In picturesque Ein Karem, enjoy an ethnic cooking class.  An Old City walking tour reveals this treasured UNESCO site, followed by a tour of the expansive Israel Museum.  Discover stunning, “rose-red” Petra and Amman with an optional 5-day/4-night post-tour Jordan extension.
