About the Play

Alan Jay Lerner Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s beloved play, My Fair Lady, is based on the George Bernard Shaw play Pygmalion and features Cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle and the arrogant phonetics professor Henry Higgins. Professor Higgins wagers he can teach Eliza how to “properly” speak English and make her more presentable.
