About Casey Hickey '89

A Greensboro native, Casey Hickey ’89 traveled the world following graduation from UNC. Her interest in food evolved by her late 20s and led to her life-affirming decision to move to Paris and obtain her Diplome de Patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu. In Paris, she discovered her affinity for working with chocolate. Read her story.

About Twenty Degrees Chocolates

Chocolate comes from the fruit of the cacao tree, which only grows within twenty degrees of the equator. Casey Hickey ’89 chose her company name, Twenty Degrees Chocolates, to convey how precious chocolate is, and to remind us that it is an agricultural product with a very limited growing region. At Twenty Degrees Chocolates, artisan confections are made in the European tradition, crafted in small batches with attention and care. All a delight to behold and savor.
