Bio: Charles Kurzman

Charles Kurzman is a professor of sociology and co-director of the Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is author of The Missing Martyrs (first edition, 2011; second edition, 2019), Democracy Denied, 1905-1915 (2008), and The Unthinkable Revolution in Iran (2004), and editor of the anthologies Liberal Islam (1998) and Modernist Islam, 1840-1940 (2002).

Dinner Details

Dinner at The Carolina Club begins at 6:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) and includes three courses plus coffee and tea.

Cost is refundable minus the $3 processing fee for any cancellations made one week prior to the event. Any cancellations made six to two days prior to the event are subject to a 50 percent cancellation fee. No cost is refunded if the cancellation is made the day before, or the day of, the event.
