Meet up with Tar Heels for a group hike lead by Johnny Randall, director of Conservation at the N.C. Botanical Garden. This hike will be a great opportunity to get active and learn more about nature in the your own backyard. Carolina Alumni members get Carolina blue sunglasses.

The hike will be approximately 1.8 miles on some uneven terrain, starting at Parker Preserve down to the Mason Farm Biological Reserve. This will be a one way hike, participants are welcome to hike back to their car or a shuttle will be available to take them back at the end of the hike. Proceeds from the event benefit Mason Farm.

Where to meet us and parking

We will meet at the Mason Farm Biological Reserve parking lot. This location, unfortunately does not have an address.

From the North Carolina Botanical Garden:

  • Take Old Mason Farm Rd. east toward the Finely Golf course parking lot.
  • Turn right into the parking lot and at the far corner follow the road past the Morgan and Mason Family Cemetery (on right) and continue through rock wall opening to (open) keycard gate.
  • Follow the dirt road and take the first right across the Morgan Creed ford to the Biological Reserve Parking lot.
  • Look for GAA staff to check in.
