Founded in 1869, the Historic Oakwood Cemetery is home to several alumni who helped shape the University in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Campus buildings bear their names such as Aycock, Battle, Kenan, Swain and Winston, to name a few. Meet up with us for a UNC-exclusive tour that will showcase many fascinating stories of the beloved alumni who are resting peacefully on their grounds. Carolina Alumni members take home a Tar Heel flashlight.

Please note that this event will occur outside and requires standing and walking. Be sure to dress appropriately and wear closed-toed, comfortable walking shoes. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and will occur rain or shine.

Street parking is available along Oakwood Avenue, Linden Avenue and Watauga Street.

All sales are final; please note that tickets are not refundable.

Don’t forget to post a photo on social media during this event – tag @UNCGAA and #UNCAlumni.
