What’S UP? Stand up paddle boarding, that’s what’s up. Meet up with Tar Heels for this Group SUP 101 for beginners class. This class will be for beginning paddlers with no prior experience or newer paddlers without prior instruction.

On land, you’ll learn proper stretching technique, equipment, laws and safety, correct stance, paddling and turning techniques. On water, you’ll learn how to get on and off your board, transition to standing and apply turning and breaking techniques. All students, regardless of age or athletic ability, are up and paddling on their very first lesson. Lesson will include instruction, all gear, swim and stretch breaks and plenty of time to play and paddle. Attendees will learn everything they need to safely and efficiently paddle.

The class will begin at 9 a.m. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes early. Attendees will be required to sign a waiver before the class. Check below for additional information on parking and what to bring.
