For 65 years, Carolina helped to mold men and future leaders in our state and nation. Then, civil war came and greater events demanded our students to be soldiers. The period, 1861-1877, was one of our nation’s greatest trials.  For this session, we tell the story of our University as it navigated its precarious way through those troubled times.
