In August of 1784, eight counties in present-day Tennessee declared their independence from North Carolina and, for 4½ years, asked to be recognized as the Free Republic of Franklin. Its independence was short-lived but, for this class, we’ll tell the remarkable story that resulted in this nation’s first act of secession.

The Carolina Alumni member discount only pertains to the member. If you are a member and your spouse/guest is not a member, your spouse/guest tuition must be at the standard rate. The GAA verifies membership prior to final processing.

Refunds for lectures: 
Tuition is fully refundable for any cancellation made three weeks prior to the lecture. Any cancellation after that time is subject to a 50 percent fee. No tuition is refunded if the cancellation is made within 24 hours of the lecture.

Changing lectures: We will be happy to accommodate lecture change requests made within five business days prior to the lecture.

Please note: Lecture dates may change due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, tuition will be refunded in full.
