In December of 1861, 120 prisoners were transferred from Raleigh to a vacant textile mill in Salisbury. Three years later, over 10,000 Union prisoners were crammed into a facility meant for no more than 2,500. For this session, we detail the story of this state’s first and only Civil War prison.

Refunds for lectures: Tuition is fully refundable for any cancellation made three weeks prior to the lecture. Any cancellation after that time is subject to a 50 percent fee. No tuition is refunded if the cancellation is made within 24 hours of the lecture.
Changing lectures: We will be happy to accommodate lecture change requests made within five business days prior to the lecture.
Please note: Lecture dates may change due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, tuition will be refunded in full.
