About Jack Morton '00

Jack Morton ’00, grandson of the late Hugh Morton ’43, is a Raleigh-based photographer. Jack describes his interest in photography as somewhat genetic, having observed and learned much from his grandfather, who was active as a photographer in North Carolina for nearly 70 years, as well as his uncle and late father. From childhood, Jack was exposed to the art and craft of photography – educated by his family in a hands-on fashion on all aspects – from lighting to composition to film processing in the darkroom off of Hugh and Julia Morton’s kitchen in Linville.
