Video recap coming soon.

Enjoy an evening with fellow seniors as we reflect back on our time at Carolina, receive advice for the future and enjoy a casual conversation with one of our University’s most beloved instructors, Professor Glenn Hinson.

Professor Glenn Hinson is associate professor in the anthropology department at UNC and has directed a variety of public folklore projects. He is also the author of Fire in My Bones: Transcendence and the Holy Spirit in African American Gospel.

The concept of a “Last Lecture” became nationally recognized in 2007 with Dr. Randy Pausch, who gave his “Last Lecture” speech on Sept. 18, 2007, at Carnegie Mellon. Pausch conceived of the lecture after he learned that his pancreatic cancer was terminal. We continue this tradition of a “Last Lecture” at UNC. It’s an informal format where a selected faculty member shares reflections from their life’s journey and speaks to students as if it was their last lecture ever. There are not any pre-determined boundaries for the lecture – the lecturer will be speaking from the premise, “If you knew this was your last lecture you would ever give, what would you share with seniors?”

Once you sign up, you will receive a Zoom link prior to the event.
