Each October, UNC alumni and friends around the world host Tar Heel Service Day projects in honor of University Day. This year, projects will take place from Monday, Oct. 7, to Sunday, Oct. 13.

The GAA will host a group build service project with Habitat for Humanity Orange County. Volunteers can sign up for an 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. start time. Registration is limited and by signing up, you are committing to be there that day, there will be no cancellations. You can find out more about the experience through the Construction Volunteer FAQ.

Habitat for Humanity partners with families to create better, healthier, more financially stable lives. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Through the use of volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds homes for families in need. Homes are sold with zero percent interest mortgages. Homeowners make monthly payments, which are set at 30 percent or less of their income, making homeownership an affordable reality.

Carolina Alumni members who attend at least four Triangle Fall Series events get their choice between a very Carolina duffle or pair of campfire mugs.

Don’t forget to post a photo on social media during this event – tag @UNCGAA and #UNCAlumni.
