Membership Services Intern

A paid internship is available in the GAA’s membership department.

If  you have proven data management and EXCEL skills, this internship is for you.  It’s ideal for a student majoring in economics, business or statistics – class of 2021 or 2022 preferred – who is available to begin now and work 10 hrs/week spring semester, both summer sessions 2019 (20 hrs/week) and during the ’19-’20 school year (10 hrs/week fall and spring semesters).

The successful candidate will deliver excellent, detail-oriented administrative support to our membership services efforts. Membership interns have strong communication skills, are self-starters and appreciate the importance of accuracy. Interns are required to handle multiple tasks and are proficient in WORD and EXCEL.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Using WORD mail merge to print membership communications including GAA benefits packages and other direct mail projects.
  • Fulfill member requests (decals, key rings, labels, license plates, membership cards, etc.)
  • Process returned mail, double payment notices and invoices.
  • Utilize databases to identify members and provide support to the membership team.

As a membership services intern, you will have the opportunity to put many of the concepts that you learn in a classroom to actual use. The position will hone your Microsoft Excel skills as well as teach you many capabilities about Excel and Word that you might not have been exposed to in an academic setting.  You will learn how to navigate through various databases and spreadsheets, and you’ll gain exposure to real world marketing tactics and strategies.  With a friendly and approachable staff, work hours set around your class schedule and a convenient on-campus location, this is an ideal position for any student interested in gaining valuable internship experience.
