Day Camp (lodging offsite) Option - Always Available and Open to Everyone

The opportunity to register for Camp Blue Heaven with the “non-lodging/daycamp” option is open to all at any time.  “Daycampers” participate in all meals and activities as the on-site campers; the only difference is that “daycampers” have made their own sleeping accommodations elsewhere.  The closest lodging option is the High Meadows Inn located just a few miles from Camp Cheerio.

To register using the “daycamp” option, simply send an email to catherine.nichols@unc.edu and she will forward additional registration information to you.

For 2017 Participating Families

2017 participating families receive first priority and will have until February 16 to reserve the same space that they had in 2017*.
Requests to change lodging can be made by returning families during this process.

To enter into the registration process for the 2017 Camp Blue Heaven weekend, please complete this Registration Interest Form.

*Please Note: Some returning families may not have access to the same rooms due to past family priorities for the rooms.  Any changes can be discussed during registration.

For families who participated in Camp Blue Heaven in years prior to 2017 (but not in 2017)

Space that remains available on camp after February 16 will be available next for families who participated in Camp Blue Heaven prior to 2017.  If demand exceeds space available on camp at this stage, a lottery will be started to determine which families in this category are offered on-camp space. Then a 2018 waiting list will be started with families placed on the list in the order of their lottery pick. All families in this category will be notified by February 26.

For families who were on the 2017 Wait List

After February 26, families who were on the 2017 waiting list will receive the next registration priority.   If a 2018 waiting list has already begun, or if at this stage the demand exceeds on-camp space available, a lottery will be used and families will receive space or be added to the 2018 wait list in the order of the lottery draw. All families in this category will be notified of status by March 9.

New families who have never participated in Camp Blue Heaven before nor on the 2017 waiting list

During the week of March 19, a lottery will be used to determine the order by which all new families receive any on-camp space available or added to the 2018 wait list.   All new families who submit their interest form by March 19 will notified about their status by March 26.

After March 26, all families will be added to the waiting list in the order in which their interest is received.

All families are encouraged to consider the “non-lodging/daycamp” registration option which remains open to all.
