Band Registration

Registration is Live.

Please take a moment to review the list of commonly asked questions BEFORE you begin.  Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 2.  Our event management system is new.  Please allow extra time as you prepare to submit registration online and get use to the new system.

Why is there a $5 processing fee per registrant?

To streamline our reunion processing and to create a more efficient online registration experience, we have upgraded our event management system. This has resulted in a processing fee similar to other online event systems (e.g. Ticketmaster, UNC Ticket Office, Fandango, etc.). The fee directly supports system monitoring and frequent upgrades and does not fund any reunion activities.

How much does it cost to register?

GAA Performer Package Fee ($15): UNC Band Alumni Only

  • Includes the pre-game meal, access to the football game (you will not need a game ticket) and one band T-shirt. NOTE: No need to purchase a T-shirt, a T-shirt is included in this package.

Standard Performer Package Fee ($25): UNC Band Alumni Only

  • Includes the pre-game meal, access to the football game (you will not need a game ticket) and one band T-shirt. NOTE: No need to purchase a T-shirt, a T-shirt is included in this package.

GAA Non-Performer Package Fee ($30): UNC Band Alumni Only

  • Includes the pre-game meal and a football ticket. For an additional fee, band T-shirts may be purchased. This option is well suited for alumni who will not perform with the band and all guests.

Standard Performer Package Fee ($45): UNC Band Alumni Only

  • Includes the pre-game meal and a football ticket. For an additional fee, band T-shirts may be purchased. This option is well suited for alumni who will not perform with the band and all guests.

I'm having problems with online registration. Who can help me?

Email affinityreunions@unc.edu if you are experiencing problems registering online.  In your email please be very detailed in explaining your technical issue. This will allow us to troubleshoot before responding.  Please allow 24 hours for a response.  Booking several days prior to the deadline will allow us to be the most effective and efficient in solving online issues.  

Can I cancel and request a refund for my Alumni Band registration?

Yes, you can cancel and request a refund for your Alumni Band registration (processing fees are nonrefundable).  The deadline to cancel/request refunds is 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

  • At the bottom of your confirmation email, click the link the reads: Click here to view the event summary to modify your registration.
  • You will need your confirmation number which is also on listed on your confirmation.
  • Click the cancellation button then follow the prompts.

How and where do I get my tickets and T-shirt?

For those who registered for game tickets and band T-shirts, those items will be distributed when you check in for the reunion.  NOTE:  If you registered as a performer, you will not need a game ticket.  You will march in with the Marching Tar Heels. A final confirmation email will be sent from the band office a week prior to the reunion.

How can I join or renew my GAA membership?

You can join and renew your GAA membership and take immediate advantage of member pricing – all at one time.

  • Click on Register Online Today, fill in your name and email
  • From the registration type drop down, select I’m a GAA member/I want to join/I need to renew.
  • Follow the prompts.

What time is the football game?

Game times are set by the ACC and will typically be announced 7 – 10 business days prior to game day.

I'm a GAA member and my spouse/guest is not. Is she/he eligible for GAA member pricing?

No.  Only GAA members are eligible for GAA member pricing.   If your spouse/guest is not a GAA member, her/his tickets must be purchased at the standard package rate.

How do I modify or cancel my alumni registration?

To Modify Your Registration

  • Be sure you have your confirmation number, you will need this to modify your registration.  It can be found on your confirmation email.
  • At the bottom of your confirmation email (just above the privacy notice information), click on the link that reads: Click here to view the event summary. 
  • This will take you to the Modify Registration page.

To add items, on the Modify Registration page, under the 2018 Alumni Band Reunion header, click the Modify button:

  • If you are adding items for you, click the registration link to the left of your name
  • If you are adding items for your guest, click the registration link to the left of the guest’s name
  • If you need to add a new guest, click on the Add Another Guest button
  • Follow the prompts

To cancel items, on the Modify Registration page, under the 2018 Alumni Band Reunion header, click the Modify button:

  • To cancel an item for you, click the registration link to the left of your name
  • The next page contains the membership options, click next at the bottom of the page
  • On this page, find the item you want to cancel, check the box next to unregister, then click next at the bottom of the page
  • You will return to the modify registration page, click next at the bottom
  • You will be taken to the submit payment page, click finish at the bottom
  • As long as you complete this process before the deadline, the system will process your cancellation and refund the amount of the event/item to the credit card used initially.
  • NOTE: Registration fees are nonrefundable
