Project Uplift Turns 50

Live. Lead. Learn.

To commemorate Project Uplift’s 50th year milestone anniversary, the University Office for Diversity and Inclusion and the Project Uplift 50 Alumni Advisory Board will host PU50, an anniversary reunion celebration, June 14 – 16, 2019, for all alumni whose Carolina journey was, in some way, impacted by Project Uplift – as a Project Uplift attendee, counselor, administrative staff member or program supporter.

For thousands of Carolina alumni, Project Uplift was the beginning of their Carolina journey. We invite you to join us at your beloved alma mater as we spend time celebrating each of your unique Project Uplift traditions and shared experiences. Since 1969, the Project Uplift program has provided a unique enrichment experience for over 35,000 high-achieving rising high school seniors from historically underserved populations. From its inception, Project Uplift has promoted and increased access to higher education and established a culture of excellence in the Carolina community.

We have a weekend full of exciting events planned, including opportunities to network with current Carolina students, engage with University leadership around issues of diversity and inclusion, participate in the Student and Alumni Culture Show, and, most importantly, learn about the impact this program has and continues to have on the lives of thousands of promising Tar Heels.

Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. You can also sign up here to stay engaged and connected with all things PU50.
