As we approach the end of the semester, there will be no in-person ConGRADulations Fair due to the ongoing pandemic. 2021 Grad Central has been created to help seniors (and parents) gear up for the end of the semester, graduation and life after Carolina with everything you need to know, all in one spot. #UNC21

The Rams Club

Make the most of your alumni status by joining The Rams Club and continue to enjoy the best parts of being a Carolina fan! Cheer on your favorite Tar Heels all year from Chapel Hill or afar – being part of The Rams Club keeps you in the middle of the action. Rams Club members are the team behind Carolina teams, dedicated to providing opportunities to UNC student-athletes and making sure our stands are always Carolina Blue!  As a recent graduate, you can join The Rams Club for half off any membership (as low as $4.17/month!)  and receive the full benefits for that level for the five years after you graduate!

The Rams Club is excited to give away two tickets to the 2021 Homecoming football game (date TBD), a football signed by Coach Mack Brown, and a customized Carolina football jersey!  Please submit this form to enter!  Winner will be notified via email mid-June!

UNC Student Stores

Cap and Gown regaliaCap & gown (regalia) is now available for purchase in store through the final Commencement day (May 16). Graduates who are out of town or otherwise unable to come to Student Stores are able to purchase their regalia online through April 22 (guaranteed delivery date).  If a student needs only part of an outfit, all pieces are available separately (not including gown).

Pricing for basic regalia:

  • Undergraduate regalia: $59.99 (basic) or $89.99 (deluxe – with Stole)
  • Masters Regalia: $69.99
  • Doctoral Regalia: $78.99 ($119.99 with a Tam [6-corner cap])

Customized, more elaborate doctoral regalia can be ordered in store or by contacting graduation@store.unc.edu. The order deadline is March 16 for guaranteed arrival before Spring 2021 Commencement, but orders can be placed after and may still arrive in time depending on the vendor’s production line. Orders for custom doctoral regalia can be placed year-round.

Customized graduation announcements can be purchased through Balfour. Generic announcements in packages of 10 may be purchased at Student Stores.

University Registrar

Important Graduation Information from the Office of the University Registrar

DiplomaCheck diploma name — Diplomas are printed with the diploma name listed on the graduate’s ConnectCarolina account. Graduates are asked to confirm/update their diploma name during the “Apply for Graduation” process. Graduates should double check their diploma name in ConnectCarolina to ensure spelling and capitalization is correct. Graduates can update their diploma name in ConnectCarolina by following the steps outlined below by the posted deadlineIf a graduate does not update their diploma name by the posted deadline, the cost of a replacement diploma is $25.

  1. Login to your ConnectCarolina Student Center
  2. Click My Academics
  3. Click View my graduation status
  4. Click Diploma Name
  5. Update your Diploma name and click Save
  6. Click < Graduation Application Status (located in the top left corner of the page)
  7. Confirm your updated diploma name

Check home address – It is the graduate’s responsibility to ensure that their home address is correct in ConnectCarolina by the posted deadline, as this is where their diploma will be sent. If a graduate moves to a new address before their diploma is delivered, their diploma will not be forwarded by the Post Office. If a graduate does not update their home address by the posted deadline and the diploma is not returned to our office, the cost of a replacement diploma is $25.

Check Student Center for holds – Certain holds, if not resolved prior to graduation, may prevent the release of a graduate’s diploma. Graduates should check their Student Center for any holds and, if necessary, follow any included instructions for resolving the holds by the degree conferral date. If a graduate resolves a hold after the degree conferral date, they should contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@unc.edu for updates on the status of their diploma.

Federal Express Diploma Shipping – Graduates may request delivery of their diploma via Federal Express for an additional cost. Graduates who would like their diploma sent to an international address are encouraged to use Federal Express shipping for their diploma to ensure timely delivery of their diploma. Graduates can request Federal Express diploma shipping by completing the Diploma Fed Ex Delivery Form by the posted deadline.

Diploma Distribution – Unless special arrangements have been made by departments, diplomas for all May degrees are ordered after graduation and mailed to the home address listed in ConnectCarolina by early August. Graduates will receive an email once their diploma has been mailed. Visit the Diploma Distribution page for additional information on diploma delivery.

CeDiplomas – Graduates can purchase a CeDiploma (electronic version) through their ConnectCarolina account after graduation. Graduates will receive an email once their CeDiploma is available for purchase. More information about CeDiplomas can be found on the Registrar’s Diplomas page.

Commencement ceremonies – Updates regarding the commencement ceremonies will be posted on the commencement website. Please check the commencement website and your UNC email regularly for updates regarding the commencement ceremonies.
