Established by the trustees in 1984, the William R. Davie Award is named for the Revolutionary War hero who introduced a 1789 bill to charter the University.

Field Hockey Adds Another NCAA Title

In winning its seventh NCAA field hockey championship, Carolina outscored its opponents 103-16, never gave up more than two goals and won all 23 games.

UNC Reaches Top Five in Federal Research Funding

The University also ranks 11th nationally among all research institutions and sixth nationally among publics in overall research and development funding.
