Chancellor Search Group Seeks Public Input

Input from the forums will help the search committee create a leadership statement to use when recruiting candidates. (UNC/Jon Gardiner ’98)

The search committee seeking Carolina’s 12th chancellor will hold two forums this month designed to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to share ideas about the qualities needed in the University’s next leader.

The sessions will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17; in the auditorium of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Wilson Library’s Pleasants Family Assembly Room.

Individuals also may share thoughts at chancellorsearch.unc.edu/feedback or by emailing chancellorsearch@unc.edu. Responses are subject to North Carolina’s public records law.

Input will help the search committee create a leadership statement to use when recruiting candidates. The leadership statement will be developed from the charge given by UNC System Interim President William Roper, feedback from the public forums and the views of the search committee members. It also will reflect the priorities of the University regarding teaching, research and public service.
