Post-Game Kick: Own Souvenirs of the Miami Game

Did Election Day interrupt your celebration of the Miami game?

Now, you can take the official game ball from the Heels’ historic 31-28 victory, tee it up on a chunk of goalpost, and pretend you’re Connor Barth.

The UNC athletics department is offering 200 limited edition sections of the goalposts that were torn down seconds after game ended on Barth’s 42-yard field goal. The “numbered and authenticated” sections are $150 each, with proceeds going to the department. They include stickers with the team logos and the final score. To purchase call the UNC athletics marketing office at (919) 962-5496.

The game ball is available as well. It’s being auctioned, and the auction winner also will get a game program autographed by Coach John Bunting ’72, a photo of the scoreboard taken after the game, and the right to request a Bunting autograph on the ball. Proceeds will go to the athletics department. Details on bidding are at the athletics department Web site, tarheelblue.com.
