• 23,275 applied for admission
• 7,547, or 32 percent were admitted
• 3,990, or 53 percent are expected to enroll
• 19 percent of those enrolling, are the first in their families to go to college
• 1304: average SAT score
• Admitted freshmen come from 98 N.C. counties, 42 states and the District of Columbia and 27 other countries

Of those who reported their graduating class ranks:

• 41.9 percent were 10th or higher,
• 11.9 percent were first or second,
• 78.2 percent were in the top 10 percent
• 54.5 percent have traveled outside the U.S.
• 17 percent are fluent in a language other than English
