Read MoreNearly 10 years ago, the Carolina Alumni Review took a departure from presenting a regular compilation of facts about the University and its alumni by sponsoring its first fiction contest. This summer, the winner of that contest, Wayne Caldwell ’69, celebrated the publication of his first novel, Cataloochee, published by Random House. (Coverage of Caldwell’s book appears in the September/October issue of the Review in the Books section, which is available online to Carolina Alumni members.)
That happy news struck the Review staff as a good opportunity to host another fiction contest for its readers.
