How quickly time passes!  It seems like only yesterday when we gathered for our 50th reunion in Chapel Hill in 2007. Now our 55th reunion will be celebrated this coming May 11-13, 2012, and we are looking forward to getting together again.

The main celebration specifically for our class will be on Saturday night, May 12, with a special reunion dinner at The Carolina Inn. The evening will feature a special program by folks who are putting together a film about life on the campus in 1957 and featuring the remarkable men’s basketball national championship season. It’s going to be a fictionalized account of that year (not a documentary), and we are fortunate to have this special, exclusive preview of its development – just for us!We hope to see you in May.

Highlights from the 50th Reunion

Dear ’57 Classmate:
On a hot, rainy evening in June 1957, we gathered in Woollen Gymnasium (home of the ’57 National Basketball Champions), clad in heavy black robes, to pass a huge milestone in our lives – graduation from UNC. We heard a speech, listened to Chancellor House play his harmonica and left the premises as anointed alumni of this great institution. Do you remember?

And now, 50 years later, having lived and worked and experienced life far beyond what our initial expectations were, almost 200 of us gathered May 11-13, 2007, along with spouses and friends, to celebrate our 50th Reunion – the half-century mark of our sojourn here so long ago.
