Student Alumni Association

The Experience. Now & Forever.

Student Alumni Association logo

Student Alumni Association (SAA) membership is available to all current UNC students. The SAA is the largest student organization on campus, and enhances the student experience. Membership provides valuable benefits, services and opportunities for students to interact with UNC alumni – all while having a whole lot of fun. SAA membership (a student membership in the GAA) is a precursor to a future UNC General Alumni Association membership.

The SAA is a member of CASE-ASAP (Affiliated Student Advancement Programs) that is sponsored by CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education).

Annual Events

Sunset Serenade and Holiday Concert

UNC’s best a cappella groups perform at two annual concerts that have become major UNC traditions. Sunset Serenade is on the night before classes begin each academic year before Bell Tower Relighting. The Holiday Concert is held in December just before the Fall final season begins.

T-shirt Distribution

At the beginning of the fall semester, SAA members can retrieve their new t-shirt for the academic year. Members must present their Membership cards or One Cards.

Welcome Back Barbecue

Catch up with old friends and make new ones at the annual fall barbecue. Learn about exciting events the SAA has planned for the semester. Meet us in the pit!

State Fair Ticket Sales

SAA members have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for the NC State Fair. The Board of Directors sells the tickets in the pit for a week, helping Tar Heels experience more Carolina traditions.

Bell Tower Bash

Celebrate our great University’s birthday at the Bell Tower on the eve of University Day, October 11th.

Member Appreciation Days

Meet us in the Pit and other venues on campus to snag free UNC giveaways and food. We love celebrating SAA members throughout the year.

End-of Semester Study Breaks

All work and no play isn’t good for anyone. Take a break from studying for snacks, games and relaxation.

Member Card Information

Each SAA member receives an awesome T-shirt, personalized membership/discount card and a pocket guide that details all of your membership benefits.

Your personalized membership card will be emailed to you within one week of joining the SAA. Please save this card – you can screenshot it, print it, save it on an app that reads PDFs (iBooks, Kindle, etc) so you have it accessible to attend events and take advantage of discounts.

The email with your membership card will contain specific instructions about picking up your SAA T-shirt. After receiving your SAA membership card, you can stop by the Alumni Center to grab your shirt. The 2017-2018 SAA T-shirt:
