The weekend was filled with activites from Friday morning through Sunday morning.  These events exclusively for ’61:

  • 50th reunion photograph and social, Friday 5- 6 p.m.
  • Class of ’61 cocktails and banquet, Saturday 6 – 9 p.m.
  • 50th Reunion Commencement procession, Sunday 8:30 – 10 a.m.

A message from Moyer Smith ’61:

Dear classmates,Moyer Smith 1961Our 50th reunion celebration will be here soon, so please start making your plans to be back in Chapel Hill May 6-8.  You’ll want to come see campus old and new — (yes, you’ll still recognize much of it despite all the new construction and growth).
Hopefully you’ll also want to see your old friends.  “Old” friends? Well, some of us might feel older and some might feel younger, but regardless you should not miss this once-in-a lifetime opportunity to celebration such a wonderful 50th occasion.  It will be a fun time!
As you’ll see from the link above, there are plenty of hotel rooms reserved and there will also be plenty of places to park (really!).  With those ‘concerns’ out of the way, just plan to relax and enjoy a weekend full of great events and activities to celebrate and reconnect with the people and places that meant so much when we were students at UNC.
So, don’t wait.  Call your friends now and make plans to see each other in Chapel Hill next May.
