Registration Information

Please take a moment to review the registration reminders below before you begin the online registration process. This will help alleviate the most commonly made registration errors.

  • Carolina Alumni member is the new name for GAA member.
  • The registration, cancelation and refund deadline is 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, Oct. 29.
  • Requests can be self-initiated or emailed to bar@gaa.unc.edu. Football tickets, merchandise, LOTH donations and processing fees are nonrefundable.
  • To guarantee you are sitting with specific individuals for the football game, tickets must be purchased on one registration form (for instance, the same as if you were purchasing tickets from Ticketmaster or Live Nation).
  • All football tickets purchased on one registration form will be seated together and emailed to the primary registrant.
  • Carolina Alumni member pricing is available only to the Carolina Alumni member. If you are the member and your spouse/guest is not a member, your spouse/guest tickets must be purchased at the standard rate.
  • Student alumni dinner, awards gala, Black Pioneer dinner, BAR shuttle and tailgate tickets will not be sold on site.

How will I receive my football tickets?

Please note, we are unable to accommodate specific seating requests.

  • To guarantee you are sitting with specific individuals, football tickets must be purchased all together on one (1) registration form (for instance, the same as if you were purchasing tickets from Ticketmaster or Live Nation).

In order to electronically transfer the game tickets to you purchased in the BAR block, you must have a ticket account with the UNC Ticket Office.

To create an account with the UNC Ticket Office, please follow the instructions below:

  • Visit https://bit.ly/game_bar
  • Just below the login button, click “Create an Account.”
  • Follow the prompts until account is completed.

Important BAR Football Ticket and Account Information:

  • No tickets will be mailed. All tickets will be distributed electronically the week of the game (if not earlier).
  • Please be sure you have created your ticket account by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, Oct. 29
  • Even if your plans to attend are not definitive, we encourage you to create a ticket account.
  • The email you use to create your ticket account MUST be the same email you use when you register for the reunion.
  • If you already have an account with the UNC Ticket Office, there is no need to create a new account. However, please be sure the email you use to register for BAR is the same as the email that is attached to your ticket account with the UNC Ticket Office.
  • Any game tickets purchased on one registration form will be seated together.

How will I receive my event tickets?

Access to reunion events will be done by scanning the QR code on your registration confirmation email OR your name tag. You can present either for access to events you have registered to attend to attend. It will only scan once for each ticket you purchase. There will be no paper tickets.

Important: The QR code on your registration confirmation and name tag will not provide you access to the football game on Nov. 11

How will I receive my BAR merchandise?

Dates and times for pre-ordered BAR merchandise are listed on the schedule of events. 

Merchandise is nonrefundable.

Do I have to purchase a football ticket for my 3 year old?

Yes. UNC Athletics requires each attendee over the age of 2 to have a valid game ticket.   Children 2 and younger will not need a ticket as long as the child is sitting on the lap of a parent or adult.

How old do you have to be to attend BAR parties?

Attendees must be at least 21 years of age.

My friend wants to attend the reunion but didn't go to Carolina. Can she register online?

Absolutely! Alumni, family and friends can register online. You do not have to be a graduate or former student to register via the BAR registration form.

What are my options if I miss the deadline?

Preregistration is REQUIRED for the following events or activities (tickets will not be sold on site):

I'm a Carolina Alumni member and my spouse/guest is not. Is she/he eligible for Carolina Alumni member pricing?

No.  Only Carolina Alumni members are eligible for Carolina Alumni member pricing.   If your spouse/partner/guest is not a Carolina Alumni member, their tickets must be purchased at the standard rate.

How do I edit or cancel or my registration? Or, I can no longer attend: are refunds possible?

As long as tickets are available, you can add tickets.  You can also cancel your registration until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, Sept. 19. If you cancel your registration, event fees will be refunded, however, your membership dues, Light on the Hill Scholarship Fund (LOTH) donations and processing fees are nonrefundable. Your membership remains active and your gift remains apart of the LOTH Scholarship Fund.

To Edit or Cancel a Registration

  • Email bar@unc.edu with your request, or you can follow the directions below and self-cancel.
  • Be sure you have your confirmation number; you will need this to modify your registration (can be found on your email confirmation)
  • Click the view or modify your registration link (10th line under the QR code on your confirmation).
  • This will take you to the page to enter your confirmation number; enter your confirmation number and click log in.
  • Scroll to the bottom and click the Modify Registration button (or Cancel Registration button).
  • From this point your can make changes or cancel your registration.

Remember, football tickets, merchandise, LOTH donations and processing fees are nonrefundable. 

I'd like to sit with my friends at the football game. Is that possible?

Why is there a $5 processing fee per person?

To streamline our reunion processing and to create a more efficient and secure online registration experience, we have upgraded our event management system. This has resulted in a processing fee similar to other online event systems (e.g. Ticketmaster, UNC Ticket Office, Fandango, etc.) plus you have more control of your ticket purchasing.

You can now add, cancel and request refunds from your laptop or mobile device. Our system will also allow us to go ticketless.  Your name tag will be scanned for event entry. The fee directly supports system monitoring and frequent upgrades and does not fund any reunion activities. The $5 processing fee is nonrefundable.
