The event is being planned, organized and managed by UNC sport administration students and interns, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in event planning, marketing and sponsorship development.
The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 4 at Chapel Ridge Golf Club in Pittsboro.
This year’s tournament also serves as a qualifier for the Acura National College Alumni Team Championship, to be held at Pinehurst Golf Club Nov. 5-7. The winning Tee Off for Tar Heels’ team will receive an expense-paid trip to Pinehurst and represent Carolina at the Acura National College Alumni Team Championship.
Discounts are available for teams signing up before Aug. 1. All tournament proceeds benefit UNC’s sports administration department and the College Sport Research Institute.
