It was a hard day for Jones who also lost any hope for a medal in the 4x100m relay when the team was disqualified because of a botched handoff. Jones tried to hand the baton to teammate Lauryn Williams, but Williams was already out of reach. The disqualification also meant that LaTasha Colander ’98 didn’t get to run the anchor leg.
