UNC Clef Hangers 40th Reunion

Dear Alumni,

The UNC Clef Hangers are proud to present to you our 40th Anniversary Reunion Weekend. The weekend will start on Thursday, April 5, and will culminate in a concert at Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 7.

The weekend will be filled with good food, drink and company — and most importantly, music. It is a fantastic opportunity for you to catch up with old friends and re-live the memories that are such an important part of our tradition, and to celebrate the special and enduring place that the UNC Clef Hangers have in the Tar Heel community.

Our 40th anniversary is an impressive milestone, and to commemorate it, we are launching an endowment campaign for a UNC Clef Hangers Scholarship, in partnership with the Carolina Covenant scholarship program. We can’t think of a better way of marking how profoundly grateful we are to have been a part of this experience than to support a talented and deserving future member through college. I very much hope you will share our passion for this campaign; I will talk about this further at the concert.

We are very proud to remain self-funding and independent. You will remember from your time that members work incredibly hard to attain musical excellence and to promote the group through performances. This year, I am pleased to say we will have achieved multiple high-profile performances including performing in Berlin and London. Our recording of Castle on the Hill achieved the prestigious award of 2017 Single of the Year from RARB, and this past spring, we released our 21st album, Fixate.

Thanks to all of you for your unwavering support. We are privileged to be celebrating this anniversary because of traditions you handed down, and the continuing support of alumni helps us to push forward the boundaries of what the Clef Hangers can achieve. In addition, thanks to the UNC General Alumni Association for its support over the years.

I very much look forward to welcoming you and finding out more about our great history — it will be a great weekend, and we would love for you to join us for our largest reunion yet.

In Harmony,

Patrick Dow ’19
President, UNC Clef Hangers
