Meet up with Tar Heels for a day at the Carolina Raptor Center. Take a self-guided tour of the Raptor Trail, and enjoy Keeper Talks at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. You also can’t miss the Vulture Feeding at 12:30 p.m. More details below. You’ll be happy as a lark after learning all about these feathered predators. Be sure to wear your Carolina blue.

All attendees will receive UNC-themed temporary tattoos. Carolina Alumni members save $3 and will receive sunglasses, too. All sales final as tickets are not refundable.

Please note: This venue is not ADA accessible and will require some light trail hiking.

Keeper Talks and Vulture Feeding

11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Keeper Talks: Carolina Raptor Center’s bird keepers can’t wait to tell you all about the birds that are in their care. You’ll get a chance to learn about the highlighted species and get all of your questions answered. Check the board in the Visitor Center for what bird and keeper will be highlighted.

12:30 p.m. Vulture Feeding: Take a walk through Vulture Culture as a docent leader feeds four species of New World Vultures. Did you know that they are closely related to cranes? As some of the smartest birds on earth, they love to play with their food. Remember, they aren’t vegetarians …
