Carol is a teaching professor and has over 10 years of experience as a sustainability educator at UNC’s Kenan-Flalger Business School and as a sustainability consultant. In the sustainability space, Carol has a reputation for being a knowledgeable resource, a builder of collaborations, and a facilitator in the “colliding world” where business, academia, and the environment intersect.
Carol’s work revolves around solving complex problems with strong critical thinking and analytical skills; identifying and delivering measurable. Multiple grants and teaching awards attest to her excellent written and oral communication skills as well as her effectiveness working with diverse stakeholders.
Areas of practice and research include:
– Strategic sustainability planning for businesses and universities
– Life cycle assessment in accord with ISO 14044, using GaBi and eco-invent)
– Greenhouse Gas Accounting according to GHG Protocol (trained in Scope 1,2, &3 standards)
– Corporate sustainability/social responsibility reporting and communications
– Consulting for start-ups and non-profits with an environmental or social mission
– Speaking to diverse audiences including executives, managers, graduate and undergraduate students
