The Alumni Admissions Forum provides an overview into the ever-changing world of college admissions and is beneficial to any student and parent preparing to begin the college admissions process. Applying to college can be one of the most exciting and stressful times in a student’s life, and it’s no picnic for parents either. To help ease parents and students into the admissions process, the GAA offers this three-hour forum via Zoom.

Experienced admissions professionals and presenters with outstanding secondary and higher educational backgrounds will serve as forum faculty. Forum topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Choosing high school courses for college success
  • Comprehending college requirements
  • Submitting college applications
  • College interview
  • College essay
  • Importance of extracurricular activities
  • How colleges select students
  • Paying for college

Please keep in mind that this forum does not focus on how to gain admission to Carolina. It has been developed to assist students and parents with the college admissions process, regardless of where a student plans to apply. Participation in this program will have no effect on a student’s application status should they decide to apply to Carolina.
