Delve deep into the history, harvests and landscapes of the Columbia and Snake rivers, while also indulging your senses with culinary splendors and world-class wines of the region, curated by Food & Wine magazine’s Executive Wine Editor, Ray Isle.

Travel as early explorers, settlers, and indigenous peoples did—by waterways that stretch far inland from the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy spectacular scenery including views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams.  Tour museums and historic sites, taste local produce and wines, and actively explore by foot, kayak, Zodiac, and jet boat. A top team—including naturalists, a historian, and a geologist—will illuminate all you see, and a food and wine expert will guide you through the region’s bounty. Take it all in from the unmatched perspective of our nimble, intimately scaled, small ship the Sea Lion.

Mobility Information

You should be in good physical condition to enjoy your tour to its fullest.

Our trips involve a considerable amount of daily standing and walking, up hills or stairs, and on uneven or cobblestone streets. Typical distances are between 2-4 miles per day, unassisted. Some tours have excursions in high altitudes, very early morning departures and/or excursions involving Zodiacs and/or floating docks.

Please contact the tour operator directly with concerns specific to your tour and your needs. For highly active tours, you may wish to speak with your doctor.

Additional Information

Note: Tour schedule is subject to change due to local conditions. Many excursions in this program involve an element of walking as some of the finest attractions are located in areas not closely accessible by motorcoach.
