Graduate Scholarship Application Deadline: March 1, 2023
The High Graduate Scholarship was created by the Joseph Cooley High ’76 and Kathleen Cullins High ’78 Endowment. The is the first graduate award in the Light on the Hill Society family of scholarships. It will be a renewable award that will support deserving Black graduate and professional students attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The graduate selection committee will select two High graduate scholars based on a holistic evaluation of their achievements, leadership qualities, community service and overall strength of their personal statement and video essay. Awards will be need-based and renewable for up to three years provided the recipient remains in good academic standing with the University and maintains enrollment as a degree seeking student in an accredited graduate or professional program.
- One graduate student will receive a $3,000 award for the 2022-2023 academic year.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a degree seeking student in a Carolina graduate or professional program.
- One graduate student will receive a $3,000 award for the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a degree seeking student in a Carolina graduate or professional program OR planning to enroll as a degree seeking student in a Carolina graduate or professional program for fall 2023.
