An anonymous donor has set a $10 million challenge to support UNC’s Morehead-Cain Scholarship. If met, the Give Together Scholarship Challenge will be the largest single monetary gift ever made to the program by one of its alumni.
Walter Hussman Jr., a 1968 graduate of Carolina’s journalism school, has put his deep faith in the profession to work for the 69-year-old school with a $25 million gift that has renamed it the Hussman School of Journalism and Media.
The University has received a commitment from the Charles Koch Foundation to support the Philosophy, Politics and Economics Program, one of the most popular and fastest-growing minors in the College of Arts & Sciences.
A $10 million gift from Etteinne “ET” and W.G. Champion “Champ” Mitchell ’69 (’75 JD) will create a fund supporting groundbreaking research in blood cancer at UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
